Blue Springs South High School

A+ Program

A

BSSHS A+ Program

  • What are the benefits of the A+ Program?

    1. Students who successfully complete all the requirements of the program can receive 2 years of paid tuition at a participating public community college or vocational/technical school in the state of Missouri.
    2. Some four-year universities offer scholarships based on meeting all the requirements of the A+ Program.

When can I sign up/enroll in the program?

    • Students who are currently in Grades 10, 11, and 12 can enroll in the program this fall.  It is important to realize that SENIORS must be enrolled in the program by October 11, 2024 in order to have the opportunity to complete the requirements of the program.
    • Students who are in Grade 9 will have the opportunity to enroll in the program at the beginning of second semester.
    • Enrollment packets may be picked up from your building A+ Coordinator, beginning the 3rd week of the semester.

Once I am enrolled in the program, what are the next steps?

    • After a student is enrolled in the program, they will need to complete an A+ Tutor Training before they can begin working on the tutoring requirement.  These trainings will be held at various times throughout the year and will be communicated to the student once they are enrolled in the program.
    • Once the student is enrolled in the program and has completed the tutor training, they will meet with the A+ Coordinator to begin the process of finding a location to begin working on their 50 hours of tutoring that the State of Missouri requires for the program.  All tutoring has to be coordinated through the A+ Office.
